Mystifying

One moment you are here…the next you are gone.

“The mystery of death, the riddle of how you could speak to someone and see them every day and then never again, was so impossible to fathom that of course we kept trying to figure it out…” Francis Prose

We are selected targets that are snatched away from the ones we love without any prior notice.

Sometimes it’s a little predictable when we are met with ailments that often times indicate that we have a low survival rate- death is inevitable.

However, when everything seems fine – physically mentally, and physiologically – we are often startled when our loved ones are taken away from us in a blink of an eye.

How can we ever comprehend that at any moment we can be taken from this world?

How can we ever understand that in this moment we are full of life and in a split second we are gone?

How can we adjust to the memories of our loved ones-vibrant and embodied with life- and the next they are still- with no functioning systems?

There’s a multitude of questions that unwittingly has no Earthly answers.

Death in and of itself is unreal.

And unexpected death is even more of a mystery.

The truth is…

I just wish we could all understand the mystery of death.
